Uniquely Yours Wedding Show

I really hope that everyone enjoyed the "Uniquely Yours Wedding Show" as much as we did.  According to the newspaper there were 1300 in attendance and a 143 vendors.  As I had the opportunity to walk around before the brides arrived I enjoyed seeing everything that was being offered at the show.

We certainly enjoyed setting up our booth and seeing all the brides and their friends and talking with as many as we possibly could, sometimes it seems that we just don't have the time to talk with everyone.  We hope you liked what we did and we look forward to talking with more of you in the future.

Jackie and Alex

October 8, 2011

When Jackie walked into my studio for our first meeting, she knew the vision she was looking for her wedding day.  Her initial planning in creating the overall look for her wedding, made it so easy and wonderful to work with.
Her preferences for her flowers were deep burgundy and deep blue with touches mauve-purple, ivory and pale pink.  Her flower choices were roses, dahlias, delphinium, thistle and calla lilies.

The bride wore a gown of ivory and carried a cascade bouquet that was inspired by the cover of Nora Robert’s book, “Bed of Roses”.  It was a long cascade made up of ivory roses, a touch of pink roses and calla lilies.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of dark burgundy roses, dark blue delphinium, raspberry stock, mauve-purple roses, and burgundy dahlias and for a touch of fun, blue thistle that complimented their burgundy gowns.

The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Victory Chapel on Naval Station Norfolk.  This beautiful chapel was adorned with a variety of florals including several large arrangement located on either side of the altar and one in front of the Pulpit, golden colored candelabras with garland that included touches of flowers and a small arrangement hanging from every other pew down the aisle.

The reception was held at the Cavalier on the Hill, in the Grand Ballroom.  The tables were covered in burgundy with a white runner.  The centerpieces consisted of a clear trumpet vase with red crystals suspended inside, an arrangement in the colors of the wedding was placed on top and crystals hung from them.  As each guest arrived at their table, they were greeted by a burgundy rose. The cake table was adorned with a garland and had clusters of flowers interspersed.  Clusters of flowers were also placed on the railing that separated the upper and lower tiers of the ballroom.  Large arrangements on champagne covered pedestals framed a special favors table that the bride provided for her guests.

The bride let us know how happy she was with the flowers and several of the guests commented also.  We wish the very best to Jackie and her new husband in the future.

June 4 - Megan and Tyler

Megan and Tyler's wedding took place at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church on June 4, 2011.

Megan wanted her wedding to be full of simple elegance and romance.  Her chosen floral colors were white and pale pink, which were a beautiful compliment to the bridesmaid's rich brown dresses.

The bride's bouquet was created with white calla lilies, white roses, and wispy pale pink veronica to add a hint of color.  The bridesmaid's carried simply pale pink calla lily bouquets, while the flower girls carried small bouquets created with small white roses and the pale pink veronica.

Pale pink tea roses made wonderful boutonnieres for the groomsmen.  Tyler's boutonniere had the addition of a dendrobium orchid.

At the reception, located at he Cavalier on the Hill, the theme of simple elegance continued.  Centerpieces were created by using a tall cylinder vase filled with water, white dendrobiums tucked inside, and a simple white floating candle on top.  Pale pink petals scattered on the table to pull in the color.

I would like to thank Megan for sending these pictures to me so that I might share them!
